The Wabash golf team finished fifth out of 17 teams at the Millikin Spring Opener, held Friday and Saturday at the Taylorsville Golf Course in Taylorsville, Illinois.
The Little Giants, third after the first day of competition, scored a total of 638 strokes (315-324), finishing behind Millikin (603), North Park (623), Carthage (635), and Maryville (638).
Sophomore Elliot Vice (Ladoga, IN/Southmont) tied for fourth place in the individual honors. He fired a two-day total of 151, shooting 76 on Friday and 75 on Saturday. Caleb Selby (SR/Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) was 16th (77-82--159).
Freshman J.P. Manalo (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) scored a 163 (80-83) in his first collegiate match of the spring. Jonathan McDowell (SO/Indianapolis, IN/Park Tudor) shot a 168 (84-84) and Kevin Casey (JR/Indianapolis, IN/Cathedral) finished with a 173 (82-91).
