Golf Team Captures Hanover Invitational Title

The Wabash College golf team fired a two-round total of 619 on Sunday and Monday to finish in first place at the 2004 Hanover Invitational. The two-day event took place at the Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana. Eight teams participated in the event. The Little Giants defeated Hanover by two strokes in the final team scoring.

Junior Kevin Casey (Indianapolis, IN/Cathedral) paced the Little Giant effort with a 151 to tie for third place in the individual standings. Casey shot a 75 on Sunday and followed with a 76 on Monday. Caleb Selby (SR/Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) fired a 154 (80-74), while sophomore Elliot Vice (Ladoga, IN/Southmont) shot a 157 (81-76). Aaron Selby (SO/Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) finished with a two-day total of 161 strokes (77-84). J.P. Manalo (FR/Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) was the fifth member to score for Wabash, shooting a 162 (82-80).

The team victory is the first for Wabash since 1986 when the links team captured the Big Four Classic and Anderson Invitational titles.
