Wabash College freshman runner Nathan Bates (Ossian, IN/Norwell) has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Sprinter of the Week.
Bates earned the award for his fourth place finish in the 400 meters at the Indiana Little State Meet last weekend. He ran a season-best 49.61 in the finals, trimming .33 seconds off of his preliminary time of 49.94.
This is the second week in a row that Bates has received the NCAC Sprinter of the Week Award. He earned recognition last week after finishing first in the 400 at the Manchester College Track and Field Invitational with a time of 49.90, his first sub-50 second time of the season.
