Chadwick Court Dogfight Goes To Oberlin

Two teams battling for positions in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament met at Chadwick Court on Saturday, with the battle going to Oberlin as the Yeomen handed Wabash College an 87-75 loss.

The game was tied three times and saw six times before Wabash took a 46-43 lead five minutes into the second half. The Yeoman came right back with a 4-0 run to take a one-point lead. Wabash went back on top by one, but Oberlin answered with another run, this time a 7-0 difference, to take over the game.

Wabash would cut the Oberlin lead to one midway through the second half, only to see the Yeomen stretch the advantage once again. Oberlin hit 12-of-12 free throws in the final two minutes to hold onto the victory.

Joe DesJean (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) (photo) led Wabash with a career-high 30 points. He added three blocked shots to the Little Giant effort. Pleas Ferguson (Indianapolis, IN/Arsenal Tech) added 17 points, while Ryan Short (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) added 16.

Wabash (10-12, 8-6 NCAC) will face Ohio Wesleyan at Chadwick Court on Wednesday night.
