The game was tied three times and saw six times before Wabash took a 46-43 lead five minutes into the second half. The Yeoman came right back with a 4-0 run to take a one-point lead. Wabash went back on top by one, but Oberlin answered with another run, this time a 7-0 difference, to take over the game.
Wabash would cut the Oberlin lead to one midway through the second half, only to see the Yeomen stretch the advantage once again. Oberlin hit 12-of-12 free throws in the final two minutes to hold onto the victory.
Joe DesJean (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) (photo) led Wabash with a career-high 30 points. He added three blocked shots to the Little Giant effort. Pleas Ferguson (Indianapolis, IN/Arsenal Tech) added 17 points, while Ryan Short (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) added 16.
Wabash (10-12, 8-6 NCAC) will face Ohio Wesleyan at Chadwick Court on Wednesday night.
