Wabash to Host Swimming Recruiting and Leadership Workshop

The second annual Recruiting and Leadership Workshop for high school athletes interested in swimming in college will take place at Wabash College on Friday, August 6.

The one-day seminar begins at 2:45 p.m. with a panel of college coaches from NCAA Division I, II, and III coaches who will discuss what coaches want to see and what opportunities are available to high school swimmers. At 4 p.m. some of Indiana's finest high school and club team coaches will talk about important lessons they've learned about the recruiting process. Wabash College admissions representatives will discuss what colleges are looking for in a prospect at 4:45 p.m. The session concludes with dinner followed by a discussion of the skills and characteristics of great leaders, led by Dr. Chris Carr, sports psychologist with Methodist Sports Medicine. Dr. Carr has worked with the Kansas City Royals, the U.S. Olympic Ski Team, and other professional and collegiate sports teams.
