Little Giant Kickers Picked Seventh in NCAC Preseason Poll

The Wabash College soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the final 2004 North Coast Athletic Conference rankings in the annual preseason poll as voted on by the league coaches.

The Little Giants finished 8-9-1 overall in 2003 with a mark of 3-5-1 in conference play to finish in seventh place.

Ohio Wesleyan was picked to finish first by the 10 NCAC coaches, earning six first-place votes and a total of 94 points. Wooster and Denison tied for second with 84 points. The Fighting Scots received three first-place votes, while Denison got one first-place vote.

Allegheny was fourth (77 points), followed by Wittenberg (59 points) and Oberlin (49 points). Kenyon was slated to finish in eighth place (31 points), with Earlham (25 points) and Hiram (10 points) rounding out the final two spots.

Wabash will open the 2004 season on Saturday, September 4 at 1 p.m. at Mud Hollow Field against Centre College in the opening match of the 2004 Wabash Soccer Classic.
