Red Pack Takes Fourth at GLCAs

The Wabash cross country team finished fourth out of eight teams at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Cross Country meet held at Oberlin College on Saturday morning.

Sophomore Dennis Frazee (Griffith, IN/Calumet) was the top finisher for the Little Giants, taking sixth place in the individual results with a time of 27:11. Freshman Ben Bly (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) also broke into the top-20 in his first collegiate 8,000 meter event, finishing 19th (28:07).

Sophomore Dustin Beck (New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie) toured the course in 28:24, good for 22nd place. Charlie Wohlhuter (JR/Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South) was 24th (28:31), while Ethan Paul (Evansville, IN/Reitz) rounded out the team scoring with a 32nd place finish (29:00).

The Little Giants finished with 101 total points. Albion won the team competition with 45 points. Ohio Wesleyan (68 points) was second, followed by Denison (97 points) in third place. Earlham (112), Wooster (141), Oberlin (172), and Kenyon (190) rounded out the scoring.

"I was pleased with our effort and our improvement," said Coach Rob Johnson. "Our goal was to improve our team finish, and we did that by moving from fifth place last year into fourth."

The Red Pack will run in the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet at Purdue University this Friday.
