Red Pack Runs to Second Place Finish at Manchester

The Wabash College cross country team turned in its best performance of the season, taking second place at the Mancherster College Invitational Saturday.

The Little Giants finished two points behind Huntington College. Wabash had 88 points, breaking a tie with Earlham College with a 33rd place finish by Charles Wohlhuter (JR/Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South), two spots better than the Quakers' sixth runner.

Sophomore Dennis Frazee (Griffith, IN/Calumet) toured the 8,000 meters in 26:38 to finish ninth in the individual standings. Dustin Beck (SO/New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie) ran a season-best time of 27:15 to finish 13th. Freshman Ben Bly (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) trimmed 37 seconds off of his best time to date, running the course in 27:30 for 19th place. Ethan Paul (JR/Evansville, IN/Reitz Memorial) was 25th with a season-best effort of 27:47.

Zach Eichel (SR/Columbus, IN/Columbus North) continued his comeback after missing the beginning of the season with an injury. He finished 27th overall, cutting over two-minutes from his time two weeks ago at Notre Dame. Eichel had a final time of 28:00 minutes to complete the team scoring for the Little Giants.

Huntington had 86 points. The Little Giants and Earlham finished with 88 points. Tri-State (102), Kalamazoo (104), Manchester (128), Goshen (130), Cornerstone (174), Franklin (205, and St. Francis (264) rounded out the team scoring.
