Soccer Drops 4-1 Match at Allegheny

Wabash cut a 2-0 first half Allegheny lead in half with a goal by Gary Simkus (FR/Highland, IN/Highland) but the Gators added two goals in the second half on the way to 4-1 victory over the Little Giants on Saturday.

Allegheny scored two goals in the first ten minutes of the match before Simkus took a pass from senior Morgan Patchell (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix) in the middle and headed it into the net to make it a 2-1 contest. But the Gators tallied a goal in midway through the second half to stretch the lead back to two before adding a final insurance score.

Wabash had four shots on goal to eight for Allegheny. Junior Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) made three saves in net for the Little Giants.

Wabash (4-9-1, 2-5-0 NCAC) returns to Mud Hollow Field on Wednesday afternoon for a 3 p.m. match against Earlham College.
