Soccer Sends Seniors Out With 3-1 Win

Five Wabash College seniors played their final home game in a Little Giant uniform Saturday. Two scored to lift Wabash to a 3-1 victory over Kenyon College at Mud Hollow Field in North Coast Athletic Conference soccer action.

Senior Tom Reifenberg (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) picked up his first goal of the year, taking a pass from fellow senior Colin Smith (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) and junior Jeff Diebel (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) in the 12th minute to put Wabash up 1-0.

Senior Morgan Patchell (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix) tallied his fourth goal of the year on a penalty kick in the opening minutes of the second period. Midway through the period it was Ben Esbaum (SO/Cicero, IN/Hamilton Heights) adding an insurance goal to put Wabash in front 3-0. The Lords scored their lone goal in the 78th minutes when Jonathan Pratt fired a shot into the back of the net for the 3-1 final.

Brendan Clougherty (SR/Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) had a shot in his final home game, along with the fifth senior, Chris Kaminski (LaPorte, IN/LaPorte).

Junior goalkeeper Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) made four saves in the game.

Wabash (6-9-1, 4-5-0) finishes the 2004 season at Rose-Hulman Tuesday evening.
