Ogden, White Earn Academic All-District Honors

Juniors Chris Odgen (Schererville, IN/Lake Central) and Tamarco White (Flora, MS/Madison Central) have been named to the 2004 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDa Academic All-District V Football Team. Both players were named to the Third Team.

Ogden, an economics major, started six games at running back for the Little Giants in 2003. He averaged 43.2 yards per game, carrying the football 119 times for 432 yards. He scored two touchdowns and recorded his second career 100-yard game in the season opener at Kalamazoo.

White, an English major and defensive lineman, earned his first All-Conference honor after making 38 tackles, 11-1/2 tackles for losses, and 4-1/2 sacks in 2004. His only fumble recovery ended in a 42-yard return for a touchdown, the third TD of his career. He had a season-best eight tackles against DePauw in the 111th Monon Bell Classic. White recorded two sacks for 10 yards at Earlham. He had 2-1/2 tackles for losses in two different games, including losses totaling 14 yards against Washington University.

Players must have a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be nominated. Players are selected by a vote of sports information directors from the district. District V includes Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ontario and Manitoba, Canada.
