Wabash captured five out six first-place finishes to defeat Ohio Northern University 69-39. The dual meet wrapped up a two-week training trip to Delray Beach, Florida by the Little Giants swimmers.
The Little Giants opened the meet with a winning time of 1:59.98 in the 200 medley relay by Anthony Caldwell (SO/Washington, IA/Washington), Colin Fahey (SR/Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard), Michael Hewitt (SO/Greenwood, IN/Center Grove), and Kyle Weaver (SO/Portland, IN/Jay County).
Freshman Chad Damitz (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) took the top spot in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.7, holding off teammate and fellow freshman Michael Belanger (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) (27.5). Zach Manker (JR/Grand Rapids, MI/Northview) made it a podium sweep for the Little Giants, taking third place.
Weaver added a first place finish in the 50 fly (29.1), followed by a top finish by Hewitt in the 50 backstroke (52.4). The relay team of Belanger, Fahey, Damitz, and Caldwell finished the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, touching first in 1:51.9.
Wabash returns to action dual meet action January 15 at 2 p.m. against Washington University of St. Louis in the Class of 1950 Natatorium.
