Wrestlers Fall To Ithaca at Budd Whitehill Duals

The Wabash wrestling team could not use its win Friday morning over Norwich as a springboard against number two seeded Ithaca in the afternoon rounds. The Little Giants lost 32-6 to Ithaca at the 2005 Budd Whitehill Division III Duals, held at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Eric Slabaugh (Tucson, AZ/Flowing Wells) and senior Chris Healy (Jasper, IN/Jasper) were the only winners for the Little Giants. Slabaugh battled to a 5-3 victory at 141 pounds, while Healy moved to 2-0 for the day with a 10-8 win at 174 pounds.

Wabash returns to the mats Saturday at 9 a.m. to wrestle either Wisconsin-Whitewater or the Rochester Institute of Technology. A victory by the Little Giants puts them in the final eight for the two-day national competition.
