Little Giant Grapplers Advance in Whitehill Duals with 19-14 Win over Wisconsin-Whitewater

Wabash moved on the semifinals in the 2005 Budd Whitehill Division III Duals Saturday with a 19-14 victory over Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Senior Phu Hong (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) defeated John Rombca 4-2 at 125 pounds to start the scoring for the Little Giants. Senior Adam Miller (Pendleton, IN/Pendleton Heights) picked up a 4-3 victory at 157 poinds. Senior Chris Healy (Jasper, IN/Jasper) added a major decision with a 12-3 win at 174 pounds.

Will Clarke (SO/Indianapolis, IN/North Central), Garrett Thiel (FR/Lowell, IN/Lowell), and Steve Kasten (SO/Winamac, IN/Winamac) completed the victory for Wabash. Clarke won the 184-pound match by a final score of 6-1, while Thiel battled to a 7-6 victory at 197 pounds. Kasten won his heavyweight bout by a final score of 5-2.
