Near-Fall Points Send Wabash to Eighth Place Finish in Budd Whitehill Duals

Wabash and Ohio Northern finished tied at 19-19 in the finals of the 2005 Budd Whitehill Division III Duals Saturday afternoon at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. But it would the Polar Bears that would claim seventh place, sending the Little Giants home with an eighth place finish based on the most near-fall  points in the ten bouts.

Garrett Pino (SO/Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) grabbed a technical fall with a 19-3 win at 133 pounds. Kevin Meyer (SR/Columbus, IN/Columbus North) won by a major decision with a 12-2 victory in the 165-pound bout.

Senior All-American Chris Healy (Jasper, IN/Jasper) finished the weekend undefeated, grabbing a major decision over Joe Studor with a 14-3 win at 174 pounds. Will Clarke (SO/Indianapolis, IN/North Central) was a 10-6 winner at 184 pounds. Steve Kasten (SO/Winamac, IN/Winamac) was the final individual winner for Wabash, taking a one-point 7-6 victory at heavyweight.
