Thinclads Open 2005 Season with 77-66 Win at Rose-Hulman

Wabash ran against the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fighting Engineers Saturday as part of the Rose-Hulman Double Duals Saturday, along with Indiana State University and Illinois
State University. The Little Giants defeated Rose 77-66.

Senior Andy Cartwright (Indianapolis, IN/Decatur Central) won the Division
III portion of the men's shot put with a distance of 12.94 meters. Eric
Morris (SO/Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider)
was second (12.66).

Freshman Mike Russell (Terre Haute, IN/West Vigo) won the long jump with a
leap of 6.31 meters. Russell took second in the high jump, clearing 1.80
meters. Josh Jones (SO/North Richland Hills, TX/Nolan Catholic) won the
event with a result of 1.85 meters. Jones was also the top Division III
finisher in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.52.

Jared Jackson (SO/Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis) won the pole vault (3.81
meters). Dennis Frazee (SO/Griffith, IN/Calumet) gave Wabash a split of
first place points in the mile run, finishing in 4.44.95. Ben Bly
(FR/Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North)
was with Frazee stride for stride,
also finishing with a time of 4:44.95.

Sophomore Nathan Bates (Ossian, IN/Norwell) won the 400 meters with a time
of 51.80. Keith Clayton (SO/Colorado Springs, CO/Fountain Valley) was the
top DIII finisher in the 200 meter dash, and finished seventh in an
overall field of 25 runners with a time of 23.84.

Wabash will host the Wabash Alumni Invitational this Saturday at the
Knowling Fieldhouse beginning at 12:30 p.m.
