Tankers Drop Three in Indianapolis Four-Way Dual

The Wabash swimming and diving team participated in a four-way dual meet Saturday afternoon at the University of Indianapolis. The Little Giants lost to Indianapolis 166-93, fell to Division I Xavier University 147-110, and lost to North Coast Athletic Conference foe Denison University 158-106.

The Little Giants did come away with two first-place finishes at the meet. Senior Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) took the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event with a time of 1:00.83. Freshman diver Clayton Craig (Morristown, IN/The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities) scored a 185.10 on the three-meter board to win that portion of the diving competition. Craig took second on the one-meter board with a score of 166.75. Teammate Peter Wulff (SO/Paducah, KY/Lone Oak) was third in the one-meter competition (125.50).

The 200-yard medley relay team of Tony Caldwell (SO/Washington, IA/Washington), Fahey, Kyle Weaver (SO/Portland, IN/Jay County), and Chad Damitz (FR/Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) took second with a time of 1:37.94. Other top individual finishers for the Little Giants were Weaver with third in the 50 free (22.29) and Michael Hewitt (SO/Greenwood, IN/Center Grove) in the 100 butterfly (53.75).

Wabash will participate in the NCAC Championships February 10-12 in Canton, Ohio.
