Wittenberg's Shooting Too Much for Little Giants

Wittenberg’s second half shooting made up for Wabash College's stellar first-half defensive effort at Chadwick Court Wednesday night. The ninth-ranked Tigers hit 64 percent of their shots in the second half to edge the Little Giants, 56-48, in NCAC action.

The inside play of Tiger Dane Borchers, a 6-8 junior, was a big difference. The Russia, Ohio, native led Wittenberg with 21 points and seven rebounds. Wittenberg improved to 18-2 and 10-1 in the conference.

Wabash (10-10, 7-4) held Wittenberg to 8-20 field goals in the first half and led 21-17, while hitting just 33 percent of its shots. But while the Tigers scorched the nets in the second half, the Little Giants could manage only 9-28.

Adonis Joseph and Michael Woods scored eight apiece to lead Wabash. Five Little Giants had six points, including Kyle Coffey who added 8 rebounds.

The Little Giants play at Wooster Saturday. The Scots defeated the Little Giants Jan. 22 at Wabash, 73-65. Wooster's only loss was Jan. 15 to Wittenberg, 69-51.
