The Wabash College tennis team opened the 2005 campaign with a hard-fought 4-3 loss to the Franklin College Grizzlies Wednesday night at the Collett Tennis Center.
The Little Giants won the doubles point with a come-from-behind effort from Dan Carraway (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) and Nathan Mullendore (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville). The pair rallied from a 7-2 deficit to win 9-7 at number three doubles. Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) and Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) won 8-4 at number doubles.
Starnes took a 7-5, 6-0 win at number three singles. Josh Paul (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington North) won the number five singles point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
The Little Giants will face the University of Chicago Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Collett Center, followed by a 4 p.m. match against Kenyon College.
