Casares Named NCAC Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year

Wabash head coach Peter Casares was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Coach of the Year Saturday night at the conclusion of the league’s championship swimming and diving meet.

Casares was voted Coach of the Year by the other nine coaches in the conference for the spirit exhibited by his Wabash team during the meet, in addition to the outstanding performance in the water over the three-day event.

Casares is the first Wabash coach to receive the honor in swimming and diving. The Little Giants finished third in the final team standings with 927.5 points.

"This award is really representative of the hard work of my team all season long," said Casares, who sent his four seniors to receive the trophy. "The guys worked so hard over the first two days to put us in position to finish a strong third today. We had a good meet, but we know we can do even more next year."
