Netters Pick Up 7-0 Win Over Manchester

The Wabash tennis team swept Manchester College Thursday afternoon, taking a 7-0 win over the Spartans at the Collett Tennis Center.

The Little Giants won the doubles' point with two victories. Adam Van Zee (Logansport, IN/Logansport) and Josh Paul (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington North) paired for an 8-3 win over Bryan Frantz and Joel Richards at number one doubles. Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) and Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) took an 8-1 win at number two doubles.

Van Zee continued the winning ways for Wabash with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Frantz at number one singles. Cain was a perfect 6-0, 6-0 winner at number two singles, while Starnes earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at number three singles. Paul defeated Blake Hike 6-1, 6-1 at number four singles. Brett Bishop (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) completed the sweep for the Little Giants with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 performance at number five singles. Dan Carraway (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) was a winner by forfeit at number six singles.

The victory was the first of the season for Wabash, moving the Little Giants to 1-3 for the season. They return to courts Saturday for double match against the College of Wooster and St. Joseph's College beginning at nine a.m.
