Little Giant Netters Sweep Anderson

Wabash earned its second tennis victory of the season Monday night with a 7-0 sweep against the Anderson University Ravens at the Collett Tennis Center.

The Little Giants opened with two wins in doubles play. Dan Petrie (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville)and Brett Bishop (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) combined for an 8-5 win at number two doubles. Wabash captured the doubles point with a 9-8 (7-1) win at number three doubles by Nathan Mullendore (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) and Dan Carraway (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central).

Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 at the number one position. Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 win at number two singles. Josh Paul (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington North) captured a 6-3, 6-1 win at number three singles to secure the victory. Bishop was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at number four singles, while Mullendore added a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win at number five singles. Dan Albrecht (Clinton, IN/Clinton Central) completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 win at number six singles.

Wabash (2-5) will be at home Wednesday afternoon, opening North Coast Athletic Conference Western Division play against Earlham College at 3 p.m. The match was originally scheduled to be played in Richmond, Indiana before being moved to the Collett Tennis Center.
