Healy Finishes Wabash Career With Second Place Finish at Nationals

Wabash senior Chris Healy (Jasper, IN/Jasper) took to the wrestling mat for the final time in Wabash uniform Saturday night at the NCAA Division III National Championships. The 174-pounder finished second overall in the tournament, losing 6-1 to defending national champion Joe Moon from Augsburg.

Healy earned his second All-American award with the second place finish after finishing eight as a sophomore. He is the first Little Giant wrestler to earn two All-America awards. Healy finished his career with 159 wins, the most ever by a Wabash wrestler. His 45-2 mark this season is the second in total wins in a season, only trailing his 48-win season as a sophomore. His only other loss this season came against the top-ranked wrestler in Division II. Healy also set the school mark for most falls in a career and wins in a season at 174 pounds.

Healy is also a two-time Scholar All-American, and should receive his third selection to the Scholar All-America team by the National Wrestling Coaches Association later this weekend.
