Wabash split a pair of tennis matches Saturday at the Collett Tennis Center, bringing the spring break week of events to a close. The Little Giants defeated Alma 5-2 before losing 7-0 to Hope in the final match.
Adam Van Zee (Logansport, IN/Logansport) was a straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 winner at number one singles over Lance Kelly. Josh Paul (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington North) rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at number two singles. Brett Bishop (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) took a 6-4, 6-4 victory at number three singles. Dan Albrecht (Clinton, IN/Clinton Central) insured the team win with a 6-4, 7-6 victory at number six singles.
Dan Petrie (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) and Bishop combined for a 9-7 win at number two doubles. Adrian Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) and Nathan Mullendore (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) earned an 8-2 win at number three doubles.
Dan Carraway (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) and Paul were the only winners in the final match against Hope. The two took an 8-3 victory at number three doubles for the Little Giants.
