Poet Mary Szybist to Give Reading at Wabash

Wabash College is pleased to welcome poet Mary Szybist on Tuesday, March 22 at 8:00 p.m. The winner of the GLCA New Writers Award in poetry will give a reading of her work in Center Hall, room 216.

Szybist grew up in Pennsylvania and holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow. She is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Prize and a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writing Award, and her poems have appeared in The Denver Quarterly, The Colorado Review , and other journals. Her first book, Granted, received strongly favorable reviews and was a finalist this past year for the National Book Critics Circle Award in poetry.

Szybist’s reading is free and open the public. A reception will follow in Center Hall, room 206.
