CANCELLED -- Cartoonist Tom Tomorrow to Give Talk at Wabash College

The Wabash College Lecture Committee invite you to come hear acclaimed cartoonist and speaker, Tom Tomorrow, Thursday, March 24, at 8 p.m. in Lovell Lecture Room in Baxter Hall.

Tomorrow is the creator of the award-winning weekly cartoon of social and political satire, This Modern World, which appears regularly in approximately 150 papers across the country. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Spin, Mother Jones, The Nation, US News & World Report, Esquire, The Economist, The New Yorker, and numerous other publications. In 1998, he won the first place Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Cartooning. He has also been awarded the Media Alliance Meritorious Achievement Award for Excellence in Journalism, the Society of Professional Journalists’ James Madison Freedom of Information award, the Professional Freedom and Responsibility Award from the National Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and the Aaronsen Award for Social Justice Commentary.

Entertainment Weekly said this about Tomorrow: “Like all good satirists, Tomorrow is an indiscriminately subversive individualist...(who) does a seriously funny job of taking on the derangements of consumer culture and the high pretensions of political lowlifes.”

You are also invited to meet Tomorrow at 4:15 p.m. in Rogge Lounge in Baxter Hall prior to his lecture.

Tomorrow’s lecture is free and open to the public.
