Wabash hosted the Giant-Engineer Match Play Classic for the first time since 2002 Thursday afternoon. The Little Giants earned a 7-4 win in match play over the Rose-Hulman Fighting Engineers while also picking up a 300-306 win in stroke play.

was medalist with a 73. Teammate Aaron Selby (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont)
was one stroke back in the single-day, 18-hole competition at the
Crawfordsville Country Club with a 74. J.P. Manalo (Ft. Wayne, IN
/Bishop Dwenger ) (photo below)added a 76 to the team
score. Elliot Vice (Ladoga, IN/Southmont) and Devin Bennett (
Genesco, NY/Genesco Central) each shot a 77 to complete the team
scoring.
Two other Little Giants scored in the 70’s for their round. Parker Collins (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington South) fired a 76, while freshman Clay Koehler (West Lafayette, IN/Harrison) shot a 79.
Wabash picked up seven individual wins in match play. Casey earned a 3-and-1 win in his head-to-head match. Selby scored a one-up win, while Manalo and Koehler dominated their matches with a pair of 7-and-6 victories. Collins, Bennet, and Andy Leshovsky (St. Paul Park, MN /Park) completed the victory to keep the trophy in Crawfordsville with the win.
The Little Giants won the tournament back in 2002. The Classic took a two-year hiatus before returning to the schedule this year.
