Baseball Team Struggles in 18-1 Loss to Rose-Hulman

Rose-Hulman converted 14 walks and 11 hits into 18 runs in an 18-1 defeat of the Wabash baseball team Wednesday night.

Things started out badly for the Little Giants when the Fighting Engineers scored four runs on just one hit and a Wabash error in the first inning. The Little Giants responded with their only run of the game in the bottom half of the inning when Billy King (Peoria, AZ/Peoria HS -- Glendale Comm. College) reached base on an error, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly by Jared Bogan (Struthers, OH/Struthers). Two more four-run innings by Rose-Hulman in the third and fifth broke the game open.

Nick Pompeo (Warren, OH/Howland) had two of Wabash's seven hits. The Little Giants stranded 11 base runners while suffering their 11th loss of the season against 14 wins.

Wabash returns to action in the Western Division of the North Coast Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a noon doubleheader at home against Ohio Wesleyan University.
