Summer Sports Camps In Full Swing

Only a few weeks remain until the 2005-2006 athletics season starts up again at Wabash College. But just because the varsity and intramural athletes are gone for the summer doesn't mean it hasn't been busy at the Allen Center.

Summer camps have kept the coaches and staff at Wabash busy over the past few weeks. Assistant basketball coach Jason Mulligan, along with the rest of the Little Giant staff, ran the annual Little Giant shootout for Indiana high school boys basketball teams. Three different tournament took place in June, with winners crowned from among some of the best teams in the state. The annual Bishop-Dullaghan Football Skills Camp concluded just before the Fourth of July weekend, bringing several area players to campus to work with high school and college coaches from around the Midwest.

Head baseball coach Tom Flynn continued his skills, hitting, and pitching camps. Twenty-two youngsters spent three days learning the fundamentals of hitting last week, while more are scheduled to attend the all-skills camp July 25-29. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a cost of $125 per attendee. For more information about the camp, contact Coach Flynn at 765-361-6209 or by email at flynnt@wabash.edu.
