Wabash College was picked to finish seventh in North Coast Athletic Conference play in 2005 by the league coaches in voting released Thursday by the NCAC office.
The Little Giants, coming off of a 7-9-1 season in 2004, including a 4-5 mark in NCAC play to finish in a tie for sixth place, received 33 points in the preseason poll. Ohio Wesleyan picked up eight first place votes and 89 total points to lead the coaches' selections. Allegheny was second with 75 points, followed by Wooster with 71 points and one first place vote. Denison (65), Wittenberg (57), and Oberlin (44) came in just in front of the Little Giants. Earlham (25) was picked eighth, with Hiram and Kenyon each getting 18 points to finish in a tie for ninth place.
Wabash opens the 2005 season at home Friday, September 2 at 4 p.m. against Kalamazoo College.
