September 17, 2005. A good crowd gathered for the pre-game tailgate and Wabash football at Washington University in St. Louis. Many local alumni mingled with several sets of football parents before the game and at half time. As is almost always the case, the Wabash crowd was as big as the Washington crowd and much louder!
Two pledge classes from Wabash - the Phi Delts and the Betas - made the trip (see the photo album) and did the push-up duty as Wabash beat a good Washington team 23-7.
Wabash’s senior leadership was out in force with Trustee Dudley Burgess ’64 and his wife Judy, Dean of Students Tom Bambrey ’68 and his wife Roselie, Dean for Advancement Joe Emmick ’92 and his wife Sara, and Secretary of the College and Director of Public Affairs and Marketing Jim Amidon ’87.
Many thanks to the tailgate organizers:
- Laura and Rick Roop, parents of #10 Brandon
- Heather and Doug Fields, parents of #51 Hunter
- Tom and Roselie Bambrey
- Joe and Sara Emmick
- Sherry Ross (assistant to the Dean of Students) and her husband Gary and
- Carol Runge, wife of Alumni and Parents Relations staff member Tom Runge.
Many thanks to all of them for a fun time before and during the game.
