Soccer Falls 3-0 To Ohio Wesleyan

The Wabash soccer team, coming off it highest scoring output of the season in its four-goal effort Wednesday, saw its offense bottled up by the fourth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops. OWU handed the Little Giants a 3-0 defeat at Mud Hollow Field on Saturday.

The Little Giants held the Bishops to only one first half goal, a set piece off a corner kick by Nick Skoczen that found Cole Graham in front of the net for a 1-0 Ohio Wesleyan lead. But two goals midway through the second period proved to be more than enough to move OWU to 12-0 for the season and 3-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference action.

Gary Simkus (Highland, IN/Highland), the leading scorer for Wabash, managed two shots and one shot on goal, but was held scoreless in the contest. Chris Serak (Avon, IN/Avon) and Ben Esbaum (Cicero, IN/Hamilton Heights) also added shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) made eight saves in the match.

Wabash (5-8, 2-2 NCAC) plays at Earlham College Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
