Sophomore linebacker Adrian Pynenberg (Montgomery, IL/Oswego Community) has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Football Player of the Week for the period ending October 8.
The 5-10, 213-pounder led the Little Giant defense with nine total tackles, including seven solo stops. He also had 3-1/2 tackles for losses totaling 22 yards, 2-1/2 sacks for 19 yards, an interception that set up a Wabash touchdown, two pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry. Pynenberg has recorded 13 tackles for losses this season, ninth on the Wabash single season all-time leaders list.
Pynenberg leads the team in total tackles, tackles for losses, sacks, pass breakups, and is tied for the team lead in forced fumbles.
