Little Giants Take Second at Manchester Cross Country Invite

Wabash repeated its second place team finish at last year's Manchester Cross Country Invitational by taking second out of ten teams at the 2005 event. The Little Giants scored 89 points, finishing behind Marian College with 67. Cornerstone was third (100), with Huntington (105) and Kalamazoo (118) rounding out the top-five spots.

Junior Dennis Frazee (Griffith, IN/Calumet) ran a season-best time of 26:17 to take sixth place in the final individual standings. Charlie Wohlhuter (JR/Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South) was 11th, also turning in a season-best time of 26:45.

Ben Bly (SO/Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) finished 14th with a time of 26:47, another top time for the year. Freshman Sam Compton-Craig (Tipton, IN/Tipton) cut 35 seconds off of his best effort of the year with a time of 27:19 to take 26th place. Geoff Lambert (SO/Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) rounded out the scoring for the Red Pack by finishing 36th with a time of 27:44, over a minute better than his previous best time.

Dustin Beck (JR/New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie) was 46th (28:23), while Hugh Jackson (FR/Ft. Wayne, IN/South) took 48th place (28:26).

Wabash will participate in the North Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship race Saturday, October 29 at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
