Selby Named NCAC Defensive Player of the Week

Senior linebacker Aaron Selby (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Football Player of the Week for the period ending October 22, 2005.

The 6-2, 214-pounder made a season-high ten tackles, including seven solos, in the Little Giants' 26-20 win over Wittenberg University. Selby, who returned to the starting lineup after missing the last week and a half with a broken foot, recorded his two biggest tackles of the game on the final drive by the Tigers' offense. With Wittenberg at midfield trailing by six late in the game, Selby tackled running back Tristan Murray for a loss of eight yards. After two consecutive incomplete passes set up fourth and 18, Selby combined with fellow senior Tim Parker (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) to bring Murray down again on a screen pass to end the Tigers' final drive and secure the win for Wabash.
