Wabash lost its final soccer match of the 2005 season, falling 3-2 to Denison University Saturday afternoon at Mud Hollow Field.
Freshman George Padgitt (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) gave Wabash a 1-0 lead in the first period, scoring his fifth goal of the year off a header in the final minute of the period. The Little Giants would take the one goal lead to the half before Denison would explode for three second-half scores. Andy Leindecker added the first goal for the Big Red, scoring in the 63rd minute. Ryan Linn added the go-ahead goal three minutes later to give Denison the 2-1 lead.
A third goal from Scott Vallee on an assist from Leindecker would prove to be the difference maker.
Padgitt added a second goal for Wabash with less than 20 minutes left in the match, but the Little Giants were unable to score the equalizer.
The Little Giants finish the year with a record of 5-13 overall, and 2-7 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
