Little Giants Tabbed Third in NCAC Basketball Polls

Wabash was picked to finish third by the media and coaches in the annual North Coast Athletic Conference preseason basketball polls. The poll selections were part of the NCAC's Basketball Media Day and Teleconference, held earlier today.

The Little Giants, 14-3 overall last season and 10-6 in NCAC play, received 73 points in the coaches poll and 173 points in the media poll. Wittenberg was picked to win the 2005-06 conference title by both groups, with Wooster selected second.

Wabash finished tied for third with Denison University in last year's conference standings. The Little Giants return eight letterwinners and five starters from the 2004-05 squad.

The Little Giants open the season Nov. 18 at home against Alma in the second game of the Little Giant Tipoff Tournament. Illinois Wesleyan University, ranked number one in the preseason national polls, will play the University of Texas-Dallas in the first game Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. prior to the Wabash-Alma game at 8 p.m.
