Webb, Philosophy/Religion: New Book Released

"Aslan’s Voice: C. S. Lewis and the Magic of Sound," by Professor of Philosophy and Religion Stephen Webb ’83 was published in The Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy: The Lion, the Witch, and the Worldview (Chicago: Open Court, 2005). His article "Revenge of the Ebionites: What is the Meaning of Hebraic Purity Laws for Christians Today?" appeared in the November/December 2005 edition of Books & Culture. "The Path Less Beaten: Jack Kerouac’s On the Road," was published in the October 2005 issue of Touchstone;  "Scapegoating and the Crisis of Higher Education" was published in the September 2005 issue of Reviews in Religion and Theology; and "An American Carl Schmitt: Lee Harris on the Nature and Purpose of Enemies,’ appeared in the February 2005 edition of Reviews in Religion and Theology.

A panel devoted to papers about Professor Webb’s book The Divine Voice—which was named 2005’s Book of the Year by the Religious Communication Association—was held at the Christian Scholars Conference at Pepperdine University, June 2005, where Webb respond to the papers.

Last February, Professor Webb also participated in a discussion with faculty at Hartford Seminary focusing on his book American Providence.
