German Students Serenade Professor Tucker

Students from Prof. Tucker’s German 101 class surprised him Thursday evening by caroling at his home.  Guided by German intern Barbara Schiftner and accompanied by violinist Andrew McKone the students sang three songs, in German, to Prof. Tucker, his wife Danielle and the German 402 class that had just finished their last class of the semester in Prof. Tuckers home.

Donning Santa hats, the group sang the traditional Christmas songs Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht (Silent Night, Holy Night) and Oh Tannenbaum (Oh Christmas Tree), and a not so popular pop song Kuessen Verboten (Kissing Forbidden) which was used in his German 101 to practice pronouns and modal verbs.

"It was a perfect Wabash moment to end the semester" said Prof. Tucker.  "Where else can you get a group of students who are tired and worn out after a long semester and a hard week to come out on a cold snowy night to have fun and sing songs?"
