The final 2005 awards have been announced, with Wabash senior quarterback Russ Harbaugh selected as a d3football.com All-American. Harbaugh was named the Second Team quarterback.
Harbaugh, the 2005 North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and d3football.com First Team All-North Region selection, led Wabash to the NCAC title with a perfect 10-0 regular season record, a 7-0 mark in conference play, and a first round win over Albion in the Division III playoffs. Along the way he rewrote both the school and conference record books, becoming the first Little Giant quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season. His 3,521 passing yards set the Wabash and NCAC records. He also set both school and conference records for single game completion percentage (19-of-20 for 95 percent vs. Denison), season completion percentage (273-of-394 for 69.3 percent), and the single season completions total. He also owns the Wabash and NCAC completion percentage record, finishing his four-year career with a mark of 65.4 percent (568-of-869). He is eighth in the nation in passing efficiency (166.1) and has led the Wabash offense to rankings of 10th in passing offense and 20th in total offense in all of Division III.
Harbaugh was a 2005 Gagliardi Award finalist and was selected to the 2005 Aztec Bowl team.
