Wabash sophomore Geoff Lambert has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Distance/Middle Distance Runner of the Week.
Lamberts earned the honor after shattering the Wabash and Knowling Fieldhouse records in his victory in the 800-meter run at Saturday's Wabash Indoor Track and Field Open Invitational. The Chesterton High School graduate won the event with a time of 1:53.31, which also met the NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the upcoming championship meet.
Lambert broke his own school record of 1:56.53, set last year. His time was nearly four seconds faster than the Fieldhouse record of 1:57.15 set at the Wabash Alumni Invitational earlier this year.
