Kenyon College swept the first four places on the way to victory in the men's race. Kenyon also captured the women's title.
Senior Jared Smit (Lafayette, IN/Central Catholic) (photo right) finished fifth for the second consecutive year to earn First Team All-NCAC honors. Smit toured the course at North Montgomery High School, the site of the Wabash-hosted event, in 26:28.53. Junior Mark Sherer (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso) was 10th (27:03.01), earning him a Second Team All-NCAC selection. Honorable Mention All-NCAC honors went to sophomores Dan Ruge (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) (16th place; 27:20.26) and Dan Sweet (West Bloomfield, MI/Culver Military Academy) (19th place; 27:31.07).
The Red Pack missed a second-place finish by one point. Wooster finished second with 84 points, Wabash was third with 85, followed by Allegheny in fourth with 110 points. Oberlin (113), Denison (146), Ohio Wesleyan (192), Wittenberg (208), Earlham (217), and Hiram (224) rounded out the scoring in the men's championship.
Wabash will participate in the Great Lakes Regional at Kalamazoo, MI on November 10.
