Pin Ends Pino's Wrestling Nationals Trip

A pin by Mike Conklin 2:06 into the fourth round of the consolation bracket brought an end to Garrett Pino's trip to the 2006 NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championship Tournament.

Conklin's win ended a 29-10 season for Pino, who moved into the consolation bracket after suffering a 10-6 loss to Michael Rohowetz at 141 pounds Friday afternoon.

Pino defeated Augsburg's Josh Hansen in the first round of the championships, scoring a 9-5 victory over the seventh-seed at 141 pounds. Hansen entered the tournament with a 32-8 record, while Pino was 28-8. All but three of Pino's victories came at 133 pounds, where the junior wrestled the entire season. Pino moved to 141 pounds two weeks ago at the Midwest Regional, going 3-0 to win the title and berth at the nationals.
