Wabash Sophomore Wins Laugh-Off Competition

Tom Elliot ’08 took top honors at the preliminary round of this year’s Laugh Off held at Wabash College.

The Laugh Off is organized and sponsored by the APO organizations of DePauw University and Wabash College.  The Laugh Off showcased five amateur comedians from Wabash College, the top three advance to the finals to be held either at Wabash or DePauw campus later this spring. 

Elliot, a sophomore English major who is the seventh ranked rock, paper, scissor player in the world, took first place.  Ryan Worley ‘06 took second place, and Jason Siegel ‘08 placed third.    

Each comedian performed a ten-minute routine and the winner was determined by round of applause.  All proceeds raised from the event are going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Over $350 dollars was raised at the Laugh Off. 

"It is a good way to raise money for a good cause.  It is nice to benefit goods causes and getting some laughs is an added bonus," Dan Gillespie said.
