Little Giants Second at Hanover Golf Invite;Vice Second Overall in Two-Hole Playoff

It took 38 holes to determine the medalist for the 2006 Hanover Golf Invitational. Wabash freshman Jordan Vice tied with Brescia golfer Ty Whitler with a 148 after two rounds. Whitler won the medalist title on the second playoff hole to lead his team to first place at the event. The Little Giants finished second with a score of 622.

Vice was tied for ninth after a first day total of 76. He shot an even par 72 on Monday to tie for first with Whitler.

Senior Elliot Vice also picked up the scoring on the second day. Elliot, no relation to Jordan Vice, trimmed four strokes off his first round score, shooting a 75 on the final day for a two-day total of 154 and a share of ninth place.

Aaron Selby tied for 16th with a total of 159 (77-82). JP Manalo was 20th (79-82-161). Bryan Arnold tied for 30th (79-87-166).

Another bright spot for the Little Giants was the play of junior Devin Bennett. Entered as an individual, Bennett fired a two-day total of 159, tying him with Selby for 16th place overall.

The Little Giants' 622 total strokes were 20 behind Brescia's 602. Rose-Hulman finished third (641), while Anderson was fourth (643). A total of eight teams participated in the event.

Wabash returns to the links Saturday, April 8th at the Sienna Heights Invitational in Adrian, Michigan.
