Wabash dropped a one-point loss to Wittenberg Saturday morning in North Coast Athletic Conference men's tennis action, only to suffer a 6-1 defeat to Denison in the afternoon in league play.
Jay Horrey was a winner at first singles in both matches. He defeated Wittenberg's Shane Hutton 6-4, 6-1 before recording a 7-5, 6-4 victory versus Jordan Buehler for the Little Giants' only win against Denison.
Adam Van Zee earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Steve Wilson in the second flight of singles against Wittenberg. Horrey and Van Zee combined for an 8-4 win at first doubles. Paul Prosinski and Daniel Petrie won 8-5 at third doubles for the third team point against the Tigers. But Wittenberg took the rest of the matches to earn the 4-3 win. Horrey's lone victory against Denison sent the Little Giants to an overall record of 6-11, 0-5 in conference play.
The Little Giants travel to Manchester College for a 5 p.m. match Wednesday evening.
