Wabash freshman second baseman Mike Nowak has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Nowak earned the honor after going 7-of-16 from the plate in the Little Giants' four-game weekend sweep at Earlham College. Nowak hit three home runs in the series, driving home seven runs overall. He also had a walk and a sacrifice hit.
For the week the Munster High School graduate had nine hits, 18 total bases, two walks and no strikeouts while batting in the second spot in the Wabash lineup. He helped Wabash to a split against Franklin Tuesday afternoon for a 5-1 record for the week.
Nowak is currently tied for second on the team in home runs with four this season.
