Tennis Drops Conference Finale at Earlham

Freshmen Jay Horrey and Sean Clergett, along with junior PT Prosinski, claimed individual victories in the final North Coast Athletic Conference tennis match for Wabash this season. Those wins were not enough, however, putting the Little Giants on the short end of a 4-3 final at Earlham College.

Horrey earned his 22nd victory of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win at first singles. Prosinski earned a straight sets victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win in the fifth flight. Clerget captured his 15th win this season by breezing to a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the sixth singles flight.

Only PT Prosinski and Daniel Petrie could pick up a win in doubles play. The duo won 8-3 at third doubles, but Earlham took the remaining matches for the 4-3 win.

Wabash's second match scheduled Saturday against Ohio Wesleyan University was cancelled due to the weather.

The Little Giants (8-14, 0-6 NCAC) will play their final regular season match Wednesday afternoon at the Collett Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
