Golf Ties For 11th in Final Tuneup

Wabash shot a two-day total 639 at the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Invitational over the weekend, tying for 11th place out of 17 teams in the final match of the season before next week's North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship in Springfield, Ohio.

Freshman Jordan Vice led the Little Giants with a two-round total of 153 to tie for 22nd overall. He shot an 80 in the first round at Dornoch Golf Course Saturday before shooting a two-over 73 Sunday at Oakhaven in Delaware, Ohio. Aaron Selby fired a 75 Saturday before an 81 Sunday gave him a total of 156 for a share of 37th place. Elliot Vice finished with a 157 (77-80). Bryan Arnold was 88th (88-85--173), while Michael Bohling finished 93rd (91-90--181).

Ohio Wesleyan won the team competition with a total of 588 strokes. Other NCAC teams included Wooster (seventh with 624 strokes),Wittenberg (13th, 640), Denison (14th, 659), Hiram (15th, 691), Kenyon (16th, 712), and Oberlin (17th, 719).

The Little Giants will play in the conference championship match this Friday and Saturday at Windy Knoll Golf Course in Springfield. Wittenberg University is the host school for the tournament.
