Wabash placed second in the overall scoring with 553 points just 25 points behind a strong Wheaton College squad with 578. DePauw was third with 406.5 points followed by IUPUI 308.5, University of Indianapolis 289, University of the South 266, Vincennes University 214, Transylvania University 154, and Tri- State University 44. Twenty-one Little Giants scored in the meet.
Junior Nick Collins (Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) and freshman Ben Hewitt (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove) shared top Wabash honors, each scoring 44 individual points. Collins placed third in the 400 individual medley, fifth in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 1650. Hewitt was second in the 400 individual medley, fourth in the 200 breaststroke and 7th in the 100 breaststroke.
Sophomore Brett Findley (Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community)was just one point back with 43 placing fourth in the 200 free, fourth in the 200 fly, and sixth in the 100 fly. Freshman Brad Williams scored 42 points
with a sixth in the 200 free, sixth in the 500 free, and third in the 1650. Freshman Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) scored 40 points with a fourth in the 200 IM, fifth in the 200 breaststroke, and eighth in the 200 individual medley.
Sophomore Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) produced 38 points placing fourth in the 50 free, fifth in the 100 fly, and ninth in the 200 fly.
Wheaton College also claimed the women’s team title with 611.50 points followed by the University of Indianapolis 584, DePauw University 409.5, University of the South 381, Transylvania –316, IUPUI 185, Saint Mary’s 172, Tri- State 57, and Vincennes 12.
The Little Giants next competition will be the DePauw Invitational Swimming Meet in Greencastle November 30-December 1 and the Wabash Diving Invitational at the Class of 1950 Natatorium also on November 30-December 1.
